Adani Power subsidiary secures 558 MW supply contract from Tamil Nadu utility
Moxie Power Generation, a subsidiary of Adani Power, has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation for the supply of 558 MW (net) of electricity for five years.
Moxie Power operates a 1,200 MW (2×600 MW) power plant in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu. It emerged as the lowest bidder in a competitive tender by quoting a tariff of Rs. 5.910 per unit, with supply scheduled to begin on 1 April 2026.
With this agreement, both units of the Tuticorin plant are now covered under power supply agreements, and more than 95% of Adani Power’s total operating capacity is tied up under medium- to long-term contracts. This is expected to provide long-term revenue visibility and reduce exposure to short-term market volatility. The company aims to achieve nearly 100% PPA tie-up for all operational and under-commissioning plants in the coming years.
The agreement is expected to benefit consumers in Tamil Nadu by adding 558 MW of reliable power, strengthening grid stability, and ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply to households, businesses and industries. Competitive tariffs are also likely to support more affordable and dependable energy supply over the contract period.
