Doosan Bobcat, a pioneer and industry leader in Compact Construction Equipment, has announced the inauguration of its 11,300-square-meter compact excavator production facility within the existing Chennai plant site after nine months of construction. The compact excavators are expected to enter full-scale production starting 2025 after the installation and stabilization of the production line. With the completion of this production facility, Doosan Bobcat India adds mini excavators to its production lineup, which already includes backhoe loaders and skid-steer loaders.
Since last year, the Chennai plant has been expanding its export volume focusing on the S70 Skid-steer Loader besides Backhoe Loaders. The Indian unit has seen robust growth, with its annual growth rate at 22 percent on average over the past five years. Doosan Bobcat's Indian subsidiary plans to sell 8,900 units annually by 2028, including Bobcat Portable Power equipment manufactured at its Bengaluru plant.
The inauguration brought together the global leadership team at Doosan Bobcat to witness the unveiling of the new facility.
