BirlaNu launches its first Experience Centre in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh
BirlaNu has opened its first Experience Centre in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. The center is located at Mahatma Gandhi Road, Governor pet, and covers BirlaNu’s product range across walls, floors, pipes, putty, and construction chemicals. The format is built around product demonstration in simulated application contexts, giving customers, contractors, and architects direct engagement with materials before specifying or purchasing them.
The building materials sector in India has traditionally been shaped by distributor relationships and price-led decisions, leaving architects, contractors, and homeowners with limited opportunities to truly evaluate products before making high-stakes choices. In practice, this often results in decisions based on catalogues, second-hand recommendations, or price comparisons leading to mismatched specifications, performance issues on-site, and costly rework.
The Vijayawada Experience Centre is BirlaNu’s response to this gap. By creating a space where customers can see, touch, and understand how materials perform in real-world applications, the conversation shifts from what a product costs to what it delivers. It enables more confident, informed decisions grounded in firsthand experience rather than assumption.
Akshat Seth, Managing Director and CEO, BirlaNu, said, “South India has been a strategically important market for us, and Vijayawada sits at the centre of a region undergoing significant infrastructure development. The Experience Centre reflects how we think about building market presence through the quality of engagement we enable with the people who specify, build, and buy. When a contractor can see how a product performs before committing to it on a project, that is a more durable basis for a commercial relationship than any catalogue or sales conversation. This is the first of what we intend to be a broader network across key markets.”
Vijayawada’s selection reflects the region’s current infrastructure trajectory. The Andhra Pradesh government’s development programme around Amaravati as a planned capital is generating sustained construction activity across residential, commercial, and public segments in the surrounding region. For a company that has been building its South India manufacturing and distribution footprint, including through its Rs 127 crore fibre cement board plant in SPSR Nellore district, establishing a customer-facing presence in Vijayawada at this point in the region’s growth is a deliberate strategic decision. This move is part of the company’s broader growth strategy, with a continued focus on product innovation and sustainability as key priorities.
