BSNL to start 4G services in 2 weeks, 5G by year-end
Union Information Technology and Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed that Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) will commence 4G services within the next two weeks and the 4G network will be upgraded to 5G by the end of this year.
Government-owned telecom service provider BSNL has started installing 4G network in 200 sites on a three-month trial and plans to launch an average of 200 sites per day.
"After testing for three months, we will be doing 200 sites a day,” said the Minister, while speaking at the launch of the 200,000th 5G site in Uttarakhand.
Recently, BSNL has entered into an agreement with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for purchase of 4G equipment.
