Polycab India, India’s No. 1 Wires and Cables company, has announced the launch of its Hybrid Inverter and Battery Pack at the Renewable Energy India (REI) Expo 2026 in Greater Noida. The launch marks a further step in the company’s solar business journey, as it continues to expand its offerings in response to the evolving needs of India’s renewable energy landscape.

Centred on the theme of Smart Sustainability, REI Expo 2026 brings together stakeholders from across the renewable energy ecosystem to explore emerging technologies and solutions shaping the sector. As solar adoption continues to evolve, the integration of solar generation and energy storage is becoming an important consideration in addressing diverse energy requirements.

Polycab entered the solar segment in 2012 with the manufacturing of Solar DC Cables, followed by the introduction of solar on-grid inverters in 2016. Since then, the company has expanded its portfolio to include solar inverters, cables and balance-of-system products, catering to diverse project requirements. Its India-manufactured solar grid-tie inverters span capacities from 2 kW to 350 kW, serving residential, commercial and industrial applications as well as utility-scale projects. To date, Polycab has supplied 6 GW of inverter capacity, with 11+ lakh inverters supplied. As per Latest MNRE estimates, Polycab Inverters contribute to 30% of the total rooftop installations completed under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.

At REI Expo 2026, Polycab will showcase its solar solutions, featuring residential, commercial and industrial, hybrid and utility-grade inverters, alongside AC/DC distribution boxes, solar cables and cable accessories, including lugs, glands and jointing kits. The display will offer visitors an opportunity to explore the breadth of Polycab’s solar portfolio and its applications across different project requirements.

Polycab is also strengthening its Make in India capabilities through continued investments in its solar manufacturing ecosystem, with a focus on backward integration, innovation and localisation to enhance supply chain resilience and deliver world-class solar products.

Polycab currently supplies 350 kW utility inverters and plans to introduce a 500 kW platform next year, strengthening its participation in utility-scale solar opportunities under PM-KUSUM and the emerging 5 GW floating solar opportunity under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Sarovar Yojana (PM-SSY). The company is also preparing for the next phase of renewable energy with advanced grid-forming inverter technology, which can support grid stability and resilience as renewable energy penetration increases. Its Hybrid Inverter and BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) portfolio also aligns with the evolving rooftop solar landscape, including the potential next phase of PMSG, referred to as PM Surya Ghar 2.0, with a focus on storage and grid readiness.

Commenting on the launch, Anurag Agarwal, CEO – Global Exports & New Businesses, Polycab India, said, “Having spent a decade building our presence in the solar inverter business, we have seen the sector evolve significantly, with technology and changing energy needs opening up new avenues for growth. As India advances towards its ambition of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil energy capacity by 2030, we believe the industry has an important role to play in enabling this transition. At Polycab, we see this as an opportunity to build on our experience, strengthen our capabilities and contribute to the country’s clean energy ambitions through solutions that address the needs of a rapidly evolving market. Our focus on quality, energy efficiency and regulatory compliance is reflected in the completion of BEE registration for our solar inverter portfolio up to 100 kW.”

Through its participation at REI Expo 2026, Polycab aims to engage with EPCs, consultants, project developers and sustainable energy professionals, facilitating conversations around emerging solar technologies and evolving project requirements.
