Musashi India to Supply 3W Electric Powertrain Systems to Bhago Mobility
Musashi Auto Parts India has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with Bhago Mobility Solutions for the supply of electric powertrain systems for the fixed-battery variant of its upcoming three-wheeler passenger vehicle platform, Bhago Bhim™, which is being developed in both battery-swap and fixed-battery configurations. The partnership supports both companies’ efforts to contribute to India’s growing EV market.
Under this partnership, Musashi will supply 3W e-Axles for the fixed-battery variant of Bhago Mobility’s upcoming three-wheeler passenger vehicles. The production is planned to commence in 2027, with manufacturing supported by Bangalore Plant.
The e-Axle solution will be designed to provide an integrated electric powertrain solution for the three-wheeler segment, to deliver enhanced performance, efficiency and reliability for passenger mobility.
The partnership will also support the localization of electric mobility technologies in India, with the e-Axles to be manufactured in India, complementing Bhago Mobility’s focus on developing and manufacturing electric three-wheelers in the country. This collaboration further reflects Musashi’s growing role as a 3W electric powertrain system supplier, supporting OEMs with locally manufactured and integrated solutions for India’s evolving EV market.
“This LoI with Bhago Mobility marks another important step in Musashi’s journey to strengthen its presence as an electric powertrain system supplier in India. With electrification already accounting for more than 60% of India’s three-wheeler retail sales in 2025, the segment is at the forefront of India’s transition to electric mobility. Leveraging Japanese technology, quality and trusted engineering expertise, our locally manufactured e-Axle solution is designed to support OEMs in delivering efficient, reliable and scalable electric vehicles. We look forward to building a strong and long-term relationship with Bhago Mobility” said Naoya Nishimura, Chief Executive Officer, Musashi India & Africa Region.
“Our association with Musashi goes back many years, and our confidence in Musashi’s engineering — the precision, the reliability and the discipline behind it — is the foundation on which the fixed-battery variant of Bhago Bhim™ is being built. Bhago Bhim™ is being engineered to set a new benchmark for passenger three-wheelers in India — in ride quality, safety and total cost of ownership for the driver-owner. Musashi’s locally manufactured e-Axle brings that engineering to the heart of the vehicle. Together with our partners across the electric mobility ecosystem, we are building an L5 platform designed for India’s roads and India’s micro-entrepreneurs, with production commencing in 2027,” said Aditya Goyal, Founder & Managing Director, Bhago Mobility Solutions.
The collaboration is expected to further strengthen Musashi India’s capabilities in the three-wheeler electric mobility segment, while supporting the development of locally manufactured EV powertrain technologies. The partners also intend to explore additional configurations of the Bhago Bhim™ platform, including cargo and battery swapping variants beyond the current fixed battery system as well as future collaborations with other mobility systems.
The Bhago Bhim™ platform is being developed on a connected, IoT-native architecture, with integrated telematics designed to enable predictive diagnostics, proactive maintenance scheduling and remote software updates. By continuously monitoring powertrain, battery and vehicle-health parameters, the platform aims to identify potential issues before they lead to breakdowns — supporting higher vehicle uptime, lower operating cost for driver-owners and fleet operators, and a vehicle that improves over its lifetime.
Musashi Auto Parts India continues to strengthen its position in India’s electric mobility ecosystem by developing and supplying powertrain solutions tailored to the evolving needs of the market, while supporting the adoption of locally manufactured electric mobility technologies.
