Gopalan Metals (India) has launched Gopalan Wires and Cables, its building-wires brand for residential, commercial and industrial applications. The product range currently includes FR (Flame Retardant) and FRLS-H (Flame Retardant Low Smoke and Halogen) PVC House Wires.

Gopalan Wires and Cables is manufactured at Gopalan Metals’ facility in Hoskote, Karnataka, which has a production capacity of approximately 6,000 km of building wires per month. The company is currently catering to electrical dealers, distributors, contractors, builders, infrastructure projects, OEMs and end users across retail and institutional markets.

The launch comes at a time when India’s rapid urbanisation, expanding real estate sector, and large-scale infrastructure development are driving increased demand for dependable electrical products. As the country invests in new housing, commercial complexes, industrial facilities, and public infrastructure, the need for certified building wires that meet stringent safety and quality standards has become increasingly important. Through Gopalan Wires and Cables, the company seeks to strengthen domestic manufacturing while offering customers products that combine quality, safety, and consistent performance.

Commenting on the launch, Pramod C, Director, Gopalan Metals India, said, “Electrical wiring is a fundamental component of every building and plays an important role in the safety and reliability of an electrical system. With Gopalan Wires and Cables, our objective is to bring our experience in copper manufacturing into the building-wires segment and offer products that meet established quality and safety standards. The BIS certification reflects our commitment to manufacturing consistency, while our focus remains on delivering safe, reliable and dependable wiring solutions to customers across residential, commercial and industrial applications.”

With a focus on developing products for industries where quality and performance matter, the company aims to leverage its expertise in copper to address emerging opportunities across India’s electrical and industrial sectors. Its long-term vision is to build a portfolio of Indian-made products that can serve the evolving needs of businesses and consumers while contributing to the country’s growing manufacturing capabilities.
