IRCON International Celebrates 50 Years of Engineering Excellence and Nation-Building
IRCON International celebrated on 28th April its 50th Foundation Day at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, commemorating five decades of contribution to India’s railway and infrastructure development and reaffirming its commitment to nation-building through engineering excellence.
The milestone celebration was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Railways, members of IRCON International’s leadership, industry stakeholders, and the wider IRCON family.
The event featured the launch of a commemorative coffee table book chronicling IRCON Internationals 50-year journey, the unveiling of the company’s internal magazine Navnirmaan, and a special film showcasing its landmark projects and engineering milestones.
The event also recognised employees and project teams through an award ceremony honouring long-standing service and outstanding contributions.
The evening concluded with a special musical performance by the ‘King of Melody’, Kumar Sanu, who enthralled the audience with a nostalgic repertoire of his timeless hits. The performance added a celebratory and emotional dimension to the Golden Jubilee occasion, bringing together generations of the IRCON family in a shared moment of reflection and joy as they marked this historic milestone. Concluding the celebrations, Ajit Kumar Mishra, Director (Works), delivered the vote of thanks.
Established in 1976, IRCON International has evolved from a railway construction company into a diversified infrastructure organisation with capabilities across railways, highways, metro systems, tunnels, railway electrification, electronic interlocking, tunnel communication and complex EPC projects. Today, a Navratna CPSE, IRCON International, is recognised as one of India’s foremost engineering and construction companies, known for delivering projects in challenging terrains and complex operating environments across India and overseas.
Over the past 50 years, IRCON International has delivered around 405 Projects in India and 130+ projects across 25 countries. IRCON International Limited has been associated with several landmark projects, including the Pir Panjal Rail Tunnel in Jammu & Kashmir and continues to play a critical role in strengthening railway connectivity and supporting Indian Railways’ electrification and modernisation efforts. Internationally, the company has executed projects across South Asia and Southeast Asia, including in Malaysia, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
The company remains focused on expanding its presence across new infrastructure sectors for Viksit Bharat 2047, while further strengthening its global footprint.
