UltraTech Cement Commissions 4.6 MTPA of New Capacity
UltraTech Cement has commissioned 4.6 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of additional cement capacity, further strengthening its manufacturing footprint across key markets in India.
The newly commissioned capacity includes 3.6 MTPA of greenfield integrated cement capacity at Petnikota, Andhra Pradesh, and 1.0 MTPA through debottlenecking at the company’s existing cement plants at Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, Patratu in Jharkhand and Nathdwara in Rajasthan.
With the commissioning of this additional capacity, UltraTech’s total domestic grey cement manufacturing capacity has increased to 204.7 MTPA. Including its overseas capacity of 5.4 MTPA, the company’s global cement manufacturing capacity now stands at 210.1 MTPA.
The additional capacity is expected to strengthen UltraTech’s presence in the southern, eastern and northern markets, while extending its market reach and improving logistics efficiency.
