Harsh Pati Singhania, Director of JK Organisation and Chairman & Managing Director of JK Paper, has been elected Chair of the International Chamber of Commerce, Paris. He joins a select group of Indian business leaders to hold this global position in ICC’s century-long existence.

His appointment comes at an opportune moment as India emerges as a fastest-growing major economy and an influential voice of the Global South, bringing extensive leadership experience.

Addressing ICC National Committees, Harsh Pati Singhania, Director, JK Organisation & CMD JK Paper said: “It’s a great honour to serve as Chair of the ICC, Paris. At a moment when the global economy is undergoing profound changes, ICC’s mission is more important than ever. Business needs trusted institutions, practical solutions, and a strong collective voice to help build a more open, resilient, and prosperous world.”

He expressed gratitude to the outgoing ICC Chair Philippe Varin and ICC Secretary General John Denton for their leadership.

His vision is anchored in three strategic imperatives: rebuilding trust in global commerce, shaping rules for the new economy including digital trade, AI, and sustainability and strengthening the voice of business in key multilateral forums.

Building on ICC’s established frameworks such as Incoterms, UCP, ATA Carnet, and dispute resolution mechanisms, he aims to enhance confidence in international trade. Supporting this agenda is the ICC Compact for Trade, Jobs and Growth, a business-led initiative focused on strengthening global commerce, promoting broader regional representation, and supporting SMEs. The Compact is complemented by digital initiatives such as One Click, Digital Standards Initiative, and AI-enabled trade services to make global trade more accessible.

He outlined priorities to strengthen ICC’s role in global policymaking across forums such as the UN, WTO, G20, G7, BRICS; expand practical trade tools, standards and digital services; and deepen engagement across ICC’s network of more than 90 National Committees and 45+ million companies in 170+ countries.
