JK Cement Preferred Bidder for Two Limestone Blocks; Expands Grinding Capacity in Karnataka
JK Cement has been declared the preferred bidder for two limestone mining blocks in separate e-auctions conducted by state governments, while also expanding its cement grinding capacity in Karnataka.
In Andhra Pradesh, the company emerged as the preferred bidder for the Dommarnandyala Block-3 limestone mine, spread over 1,188 hectares in the YSR Kadapa district, following an e-auction conducted by the state government.
Separately, in Madhya Pradesh, JK Cement has also been declared the preferred bidder for the Itauri-Jharkua Limestone Block, covering 350 hectares in Panna district.
In another development, the company has increased the cement grinding capacity at its Muddapur plant in Karnataka by 1.0 million tonnes per annum (MnTPA), raising the capacity from 3.50 MnTPA to 4.50 MnTPA. The expansion was achieved through debottlenecking and optimisation of the existing production system, without setting up a new facility.
Following this expansion, the company’s overall grey cement production capacity has increased to 32.26 MnTPA, including capacities of its subsidiary companies.
