Jindal Stainless accredited as a qualified vendor by BrahMos Aerospace

Jindal Stainless has been accredited by BrahMos Aerospace as a qualified vendor for the manufacturing and supply of steel sheets and plates from its Hisar plant in Haryana. This approval comes after a stringent quality and credentials audit conducted by BrahMos to enlist Jindal Stainless, Hisar, as a supplier for its cruise missiles.

Commenting on this significant development, Managing Director, Jindal Stainless, Abhyuday Jindal, stated, “This milestone underscores our role in, and commitment to, India’s defence sector. We envision an India that is completely Atmanirbhar in its defence requirement. In line with this vision, we are enhancing our capabilities to meet and exceed the stringent conditions for such critical applications. Contributing to the strengthening of our country’s defence standing is a matter of passion and pride for us.”

This accreditation highlights Jindal Stainless’ commitment to excellence and innovation in producing high-quality materials essential for national security. Jindal Stainless, Hisar, will manufacture and supply customised stainless steel and speciality low-alloy steel sheets and plates that meet the technical requirements of BrahMos Aerospace. Previously, Jindal Stainless has supplied materials for key projects under the DRDO and ISRO, including India’s lunar mission Chandrayaan, PSLV, GSLV Mk3, nuclear submarine missile system, missile canisters for various missile programmes, and exhaust units in rockets. The company is dedicated to meeting the material requirements of upcoming missile programmes.

Among the select few globally certified companies with AS 9100D certification, a quality management system for aviation, space, and defence organisations, Jindal Stainless has recently developed and supplied 3 mm special alloy steel sheets for the Supersonic Missile-Assisted Release of Torpedo (SMART) system, enhancing the Indian Navy’s anti-submarine warfare capabilities. Manufactured by Jindal Stainless, Hisar in a record turnaround time, these specialised sheets can provide high thermal stability and high-pressure resistance during flight.
