Garware-Wall Ropes Ltd (GWRL) one of the largest players in the technical textile sector in India has installed and commissioned world class State of the Art machinery offering the solution of erosion control and slope protection. The machinery is a fully integrated Rolled Erosion Control Product (RECP) and is capable of manufacturing versatile Erosion Control Mat’s (ECM) made from polymeric material, natural fibres as well as a combination of both. The machine has the capability to manufacture Erosion Control Mat (ECM) of different strengths and GSMs to meet the highest requirement for any applications of RECP’s.
The Erosion Control Mat is a machine made product from a long-term double net & 100% coconut fiber blanket with a functional longevity of up to 36 months. The blanket has a consistent thickness with the coconut evenly distributed over the entire area of the mat. The coir blanket is covered on the top and bottom sides with heavyweight photodegradable polypropylene netting having ultraviolet additives to delay degradation and a mesh opening of maximum 1.59 x 1.59 cm. The mat is sewn together at 5 centimetrecentres with degradable thread.
The specification confirms to requirements established by Indian Road Congress - MORTH, Erosion Control Technology Council (ECTC) – 4B and Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA) FP-03 Section 713.17.
