NCL-UPRVUNL to set up plant in UP

Kanpur: Ghatampur, Kanpur Nagar will see a 1,980 MW coal based super critical thermal power station set up by a joint venture company between NLC and UPRVUNL.

Land acquisition clearance has been given by the state government of 2,500 acres and an allocation of 80 cusecs of water for this project has been done. According to Gadgil, Uttar Pradesh will get 64.39% of the power produced by the plant.

Formalities like the feasibility report, environment impact assessment (EIA) and environment management programme (EMA) of the project are been taken care of and the ministry of coal will soon be approached for the allocation of coal blocks for the project.
