Union Budget 2023-24: Income tax relief for salaried class
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2023-24 in the parliament today. For the salaried, she announced changes in tax slabs under the new tax regime. The rebate limit in the new tax regime is increased to 7 lakh from Rs 5 lakh.
Apart from this, the defence budget was increased to Rs 5.94 lakh crore for 2023-24 from last year's allocation of Rs 5.25 lakh crore. The Capital expenditure outlay has been enhanced by 33% to Rs 10 lakh crore. The outlay for PM Awaz Yojana has been increased by 66% to over Rs. 79,000 crore.
