Tata Power Signs MoU to Expand EV Charging Infrastructure in Gorakhpur
Tata Power EV Charging Solutions (TPEVCSL), a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Gorakhpur Nagar Nigam to boost electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.
Under the agreement, TPEVCSL will install ultra-fast EV charging stations at key strategic locations across the city. The initiative aims to expand public charging access, improve convenience for EV users, and support the growing adoption of electric mobility. The deployment of high-speed chargers at high-footfall and transit-focused locations is expected to reduce range anxiety and encourage wider use of sustainable transportation options.
The collaboration also aligns with the Uttar Pradesh government’s broader push toward green mobility and strengthening urban EV infrastructure.
Tata Power continues to scale its nationwide charging network under the EZ Charge brand. The company has already installed more than 2 lakh home chargers, over 5,500 public, semi-public, and fleet charging points, and more than 1,200 e-bus charging points across 630+ cities and towns. With over 5 lakh registered EZ Charge users, Tata Power’s chargers are deployed at accessible and diverse points including highways, hotels, malls, hospitals, workplaces, bus depots, commercial hubs, and residential complexes.
The company said these efforts have played a key role in supporting India’s rapid shift toward electric mobility.
