India and Philippines signed an agreement regarding India assisting the Philippines fund Quick Impact Projects (QIP). The QIP includes educational programs, community development, construction of roads and local centers. Projects worth up to $50,000 accepted for funding. These projects will be based on the priorities of the Philippine government, with the embassy noting that these would focus on agriculture, health, and education.

The signing ceremony was held at Cape Crame, Quezon City, Philippines. The agreement was signed by Shambhu S Kumaran, Ambassador of India to the Philippines and Benjamin C. Abalos, Jr. Secretary, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) of the Philippines in the presence of senior officials from the Departments of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and Finance (DOF) and the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) and Embassy of India.

“The agreement provides an enabling framework for facilitating Indian grant assistance to small projects for socio-economic development in the Philippines, which include but not limited to [the] creation or improvement of both social infrastructure and physical infrastructure," said the embassy.
