Pace Digitek Secures 250 MW Solar + 1,100 MWh BESS Project at Pavagada Solar Park
Pace Digitek has secured a Letter of Award (LoA) from Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) for the development of a 250 MW Solar PV project integrated with a 250 MW / 1,100 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Pavagada Solar Park.
The project, located in Annadanapura and Reddyvarahalli villages of Tumkuru district, was awarded under a tariff-based competitive bidding process (Tranche I). Designed to supply dispatchable peak power and optimise grid utilisation, the project will evacuate power through the existing KSPDCL Pooling 220/66kV Substation No. 6.
The Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) has adopted an interim tariff of ₹5.51 per unit with Viability Gap Funding (VGF) support. The project has a 25-year tenure and is scheduled for commissioning within 18 months from signing of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
With this order, Pace Digitek’s consolidated order book stands at ₹102,428 million, including ₹77,792 million in its energy segment and ₹24,637 million in telecom infrastructure projects.
Commenting on the development, Chairman & Managing Director Venugopal Rao Maddisetty said the award reinforces the company’s capability in delivering integrated renewable and storage solutions. The addition takes Pace Digitek’s total BESS portfolio beyond 5 GWh, strengthening its position in the fast-growing energy storage segment.
The project will incorporate a minimum of 20% local content, including the company’s indigenously developed Energy Management System (EMS), supporting the ‘Make in India’ initiative and domestic battery ecosystem development.
