Welspun Metallics, a subsidiary of Welspun Corp (WCL) has forayed into Steel Manufacturing as a part of the company's overall business growth and diversification strategy by launching a state-of-the-art Greenfield manufacturing facility in Anjar, Gujarat.
This inauguration aligns with the Gujarat government’s progressive goals to accelerate investments in industrial development for economic growth. Keeping this in mind, Welspun Corp has established a state-of-the-art Steel Manufacturing facility in Anjar through its 100% subsidiary, Welspun Metallics.
Set up with a total investment of approximately INR 2000 crores (including downstream facilities), the Blast Furnace has a production capacity of 5 lakh metric tonnes per annum (500,000 MTPA). The plant is spread over more than 100 acres of land providing direct employment for an additional 2000+ people, while creating thousands of indirect jobs and livelihood opportunities, contributing to regional and national socio-economic development. The focus is on utilizing the local skilled workforce in and around Anjar and uplifting their quality of life.
