The Ramco Cements has bagged the CSRBOX Impact Award 2022 under two categories viz. the WASH (Water Sanitation and Hygiene) category and the Employee Volunteering Initiative category. CSRBOX encourages companies, CSR Foundations, and CSR implementing agencies to deliver high impact through CSR projects by adopting a multi-stakeholder approach, leading to excellence in project outcomes. The award under the WASH (Water Sanitation and Hygiene) category was given to Ramco Cements’ Ariyalur plant for its CSR work of accessible and sustainable sanitation facilities – SMART toilets to address the issue of open defecation while the award under the Employee Volunteering Initiative category was given to its RR Nagar plant for Health care and Educational activities in the nearby villages.
The 8th CSR Impact Awards were given on 15th November 2022 at the prestigious India CSR Summit, South Asia’s largest CSR forum. There were 220 award nominations across 16 categories.
The evaluation was done on the Key impact indicators, Project design, innovation and approach, and sustainability of the project.
Dr.Bhagwat Karad, Honorable State Minister of Finance, Government of India, Shri. Bhubaneswar Kalita, Honourable Vice Chairman-Rajya Sabha, Ms. Veena Reddy, Mission Director, USAID India, Major General Amit Loomba, Additional Director General, Ceremonials and Welfare, India Army, and Ms.Debashree Mukherjee (IAS), Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, graced the occasion.
Major General Amit Loomba and Ms. Debashree Mukherjee presented the award to Ramco Cements.
