Jindal Stainless to airlift Liquid Medical Oxygen from Odisha unit to meet additional demand in Hisar

With the fast-spreading impact of the pandemic in the city, the demand for Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) has increased substantially. To meet the need of increasing LMO consumption, Jindal Stainless has decided to airlift LMO from its facility in Odisha. The first batch of 14.79 MT of LMO will be dispatched tonight from the Odisha facility. The allocation of the LMO will be according to the demand from various hospitals. Jindal Stainless has been supplying LMO to several hospitals in Hisar and nearby cities as well. In the last few days, the consumption of LMO has doubled to 18 MT/day. Currently, the Oxygen unit at Hisar is supplying 9 MT of LMO daily, which is operating at 150% of its capacity.

Commenting on the development, Abhyuday Jindal, Managing Director, Jindal Stainless, said, "We are ready to take all decisions in the interest of the nation, and saving the lives of our people is our priority at the moment. We will airlift the LMO from our Odisha facility to reduce any loss of time. I am personally monitoring the status of supply on a daily basis so that there is no shortage of oxygen."
