KONE India Hosts Media Tour of Record-Breaking Passenger Elevator at Mumbai’s Jio World Centre

What does it take to move hundreds of people seamlessly in one journey?

KONE India recently hosted a media tour at the iconic Jio World Centre, inviting journalists to experience the world’s largest passenger elevator, a landmark engineering achievement that was unveiled in May 2022, and is fully operational.

Designed and delivered by KONE, the record-breaking elevator spans 25.78 square meters, weighs 16 tonnes, and can carry up to 235 passengers across five floors in a single trip. Built for extremely high footfall during large-scale events, exhibitions, and conferences, the elevator plays a critical role in enabling smooth, safe, and efficient people movement within one of India’s most prominent convention destinations.

With panoramic glass walls and advanced KONE technology, the elevator highlights KONE’s expertise in delivering custom-built, high-capacity People Flow® solutions for complex and high-density environments.
