Jupiter International has commissioned its third solar cell manufacturing unit in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, effectively doubling its production capacity. The new facility adds 1 GW of mono PERC capacity to its existing 959 MW base, bringing total installed capacity to nearly 2 GW. Developed by Jupiter Solartech (JSTPL), a wholly owned subsidiary, the plant is strategically located in Village Katha, District Solan, and focuses on high-efficiency mono PERC technology to meet global standards.

The expansion is set to double the local workforce, creating a significant number of skilled green jobs in advanced solar manufacturing. Looking ahead, Jupiter International plans to add a 1.25 GW TOPCon solar cell line, reinforcing its strategy of vertical integration and technology leadership.

“The commissioning of Unit III at Baddi is a major milestone in scaling our solar manufacturing capabilities. It underscores our commitment to delivering world-class clean energy technologies Made in India, for India and the world,” said Alok Garodia, Chairman and MD of Jupiter International.

With this expansion, Jupiter strengthens its position as a technology-driven, sustainability-focused solar manufacturer and supports India’s 500 GW renewable energy roadmap, boosting domestic capacity and advancing the nation’s clean energy transition.
