Jotun Introduces Jotashield Eterna with 12-Year Warranty for India’s Harsh Climate
Jotun Paints India has launched Jotashield Eterna, a new premium exterior paint positioned as the highest-quality offering under its Jotashield range. The company said the product is designed to address key exterior paint challenges such as colour fading, dust accumulation and rain streaking, supported by advanced self-cleaning technology.
Developed by Jotun’s India and Regional Research & Development teams, Jotashield Eterna combines a high-performance binder system, weather-stable pigments and self-cleaning properties to deliver long-term protection in India’s varied and demanding climatic conditions.
The paint features a smooth finish that helps prevent dirt penetration, a common issue when conventional coatings soften under heat and humidity. Its self-cleaning capability allows dirt to wash away during rainfall, reducing visible streaking and helping walls maintain a fresh appearance for longer.
Jotashield Eterna is available in more than 500 colours and incorporates active protection additives designed to slow paint ageing caused by prolonged UV exposure. According to the company, the product has undergone extensive third-party testing and carries 21 quality assurance certifications, including assessments for CO₂ diffusion, QUV accelerated weathering, water permeability and salt spray resistance. It is backed by a 12-year performance warranty.
Shashi Kumar Venugopal, Managing Director, Jotun India Pvt. Ltd., said Indian buildings are exposed to extreme weather conditions, including intense sunlight, heavy monsoons and high humidity levels. “With Jotashield Eterna, we have combined global expertise with local insights to develop an exterior paint solution focused on durability, colour retention and resistance to dirt. The launch reflects our continued commitment to innovation-driven, high-performance solutions for the Indian market,” he said.
Madhvi Marathe, Head of Marketing, Jotun India, added that the new product aims to meet growing demand for long-lasting exterior coatings. “By leveraging local insights and advanced technologies, we have enhanced resistance to dirt penetration, ease of application and colour performance,” she said.
Jotun stated that the launch reinforces its focus on quality-led innovation and product development tailored to Indian environmental conditions.
