Japan commits Rs 14,250 crore loans to India for infra projects
New Delhi: Japan today made loans worth 242.2 billion yen (about Rs 14,251 Crore in) on development projects in 5 bases in India, including the Project Dedicated Freight Corridor.
Credit, under the Official Development Assistance (ODA) has been earmarked for projects that involve the System Protocol Project To strengthen in Madhya Pradesh (JPY R15,45 billion); Odisha Integrated Sanitation Improvement Project (II) (JPY 25,7 billion) and Dedicated Freight Corridor Project (Phase 1) (III) (JPY 103.6 billion or R 6,170 crore).
Furthermore, the North East Road to Connectivity Network Improvement Project will JPY 67.1 million; Jharkhand and horticulture Intensification Micro Drip Irrigation Project (JPY 4.65 billion).
Credit will be increased by the use of the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
ODA has generally been divided on aid to both sides – where assistance is provided directly to developing countries, with international assistance – provided by international organizations.
The loans, under Official Development Assistance have been committed for projects in Madhya Pradesh and Odisha
JICA provides assistance to both the form of Technical Cooperation Japanese ODA Loans and Grant Aid.
It also notes exchanged between S Sivakumar, Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Government of India Kenji Hiramatsu, a consul in Japan to India, a financial report to the ministry said.
Japan has committed a total of JPY 390 million during the financial year, ending today, that amount had done year high, he said.
India and Japan have been developing co-operation in the economic gain from 1958.
“Over the past few years, economic cooperation between India and Japan strengthened and grew met strategy. In general consensus of political parties and support for the comprehensive co-operation between Japanese, Indian and cooperation are not ready great future,” he said.
