Hindustan Zinc signs MoU with Tripura Group for unit at Zinc Park in Rajasthan
Hindustan Zinc has signed a memorandum of understanding with Tripura Group to set up a manufacturing unit at its proposed Zinc Park in Khankhala, Bhilwara district of Rajasthan. The move is part of the company’s plan to develop an integrated downstream industrial hub focused on zinc-based value chains.
Under the agreement, Hindustan Zinc will provide assured raw material linkage to Tripura Group’s facility, supported by a long-term offtake arrangement. The partnership aims to strengthen the downstream zinc ecosystem and support scalable and efficient manufacturing in the region.
The Zinc Park project, announced at the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit in December 2024, is planned near the company’s mining and smelting operations at Chanderiya, Dariba and Debari. The initiative is being developed in collaboration with Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation to create an integrated hub for downstream zinc industries, attract investments, and generate employment in the state.
Arun Misra, Chief Executive Officer of Hindustan Zinc, said the Zinc Park is aligned with the company’s long-term vision to build a resilient metal value chain and accelerate domestic manufacturing through targeted collaborations and assured supply arrangements.
Tripura Group, which has expertise in beneficiation inputs and process optimisation for metal processing, is expected to act as an anchor investor at the park, enhancing operational synergies and input quality for downstream processors.
Hindustan Zinc, part of the Vedanta Group, said it will continue stakeholder consultations and develop the Zinc Park in phases with a focus on sustainability, infrastructure development and local skill creation.
