Eicher Pro X EV Sets India Book of Records with First Fully Loaded Kashmir–Kanyakumari Electric Truck Run

Eicher Trucks and Buses, a business unit of VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), has achieved a landmark milestone with its Eicher Pro X EV, becoming the first and fastest electric commercial vehicle to complete the grueling journey from Kashmir to Kanyakumari under fully loaded condition. Recognized by the India Book of Records (IBR), the record-setting run covered over 4,000 kilometers in 6 days beginning in Srinagar on January 20, 2026, and concluding in Kanyakumari on January 26, 2026. During this time, the Eicher Pro X EV travelled across India’s diverse terrains and climatic zones, conquering the mighty Himalayas, the vast plains, the Deccan Plateau and its ghats.

During the journey, the Eicher Pro X EV relied on a network of public chargers available to the driver through the MyEicher App. The adjudicator from India Book of Records accompanied the Eicher Pro X EV throughout the journey, verifying route compliance, loading conditions, distance covered, charging halts, and overall journey time. 

Aligned with the Government of India’s vision for Net Zero emissions and the push for sustainable transportation, this expedition is a powerful real-world demonstration that Eicher’s EV technology is ready to spearhead the nation’s transition to a greener, decarbonized logistics ecosystem.

Throughout the journey, the Eicher Pro X EV demonstrated consistent performance with multiple planned charging halts. The expedition reinforced that India’s rapidly expanding EV charging infrastructure can support electric commercial vehicles across highways, urban clusters, varied terrains, and long-haul applications.

With this milestone, Eicher aims to address one of the key barriers to EV adoption in the commercial vehicle space: confidence. By demonstrating real-world endurance and operational reliability, the company seeks to build trust among fleet operators, entrepreneurs, and logistics players evaluating electric alternatives.

By maximising kilometres per charge and maintaining stable cruising performance across plains, hills, and coastal routes, the Pro X EV has established its readiness for any logistical challenge the Indian landscape presents.

Beyond zero tailpipe emissions, the K2K run showcased the Eicher Pro X EV’s ability to deliver predictable operating economics and minimal maintenance requirements under real-world freight conditions. These factors are pivotal for fleet operators evaluating the long-term Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and the commercial viability of transitioning to electric fleets.
