CII Excon 2025: Advancing Construction Equipment Benchmarks
CII Excon 2025 concluded successfully with record participation, uniting manufacturers, policymakers, and global stakeholders. The exhibition showcased next-generation construction technologies alongside live demonstrations and innovative solutions, underlining India’s rising leadership in sustainable infrastructure and construction equipment
Excon 2025, South Asia’s largest construction equipment exhibition, concluded successfully amid strong industry participation and enthusiasm. Held once every two years at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) in Bengaluru, Karnataka, the event has firmly established itself as the biggest showcase for construction equipment in the region.
Organised from December 9 to 13, 2025, Excon 2025 spanned an expansive 3.5 million sq. ft. and attracted over 1,250 exhibitors, including 134 international participants from 20 countries. The exhibition drew an estimated 1.2 lakh business visitors, reinforcing its position as the third-largest construction equipment exhibition globally.
Aligned with the theme “Building India’s Tomorrow”, the exhibition featured an extensive lineup of new product introductions and technology with live demonstrations across multiple segments, including earthmoving equipment, electric and hybrid machines, construction mobility solutions, engines, hydraulics, lighting, access equipment, crushing and screening solutions, aftermarket offerings, and digital platforms. A number of these launches marked first-of-their-kind developments in India, reflecting the construction equipment industry’s expanding engineering capabilities and its steady progress as a global manufacturing base. The event reflected the industry’s growing focus on productivity, technology integration, and sustainability.
There were dedicated zones which focused on AI, IoT, automation, electric and hybrid equipment, and green technologies aimed at low-emission infrastructure projects. The event also hosted conferences addressing skill development, safety, decarbonisation, and alignment with national initiatives such as Bharatmala, high-speed rail, and Smart Cities under the PM Gati Shakti framework. These platforms encouraged collaboration among OEMs, contractors, financiers, SMEs, and startups, strengthening the construction ecosystem in line with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
The expo also featured seven international pavilions representing France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Turkey, China, and the UK. Exhibition halls were abuzz with activity, as visitors thronged live demonstration zones to witness equipment capabilities firsthand. Business visitors, policymakers, and buyers actively participated in extensive B2B meetings, underlining Excon’s role as a key business and networking platform for the construction equipment industry.
Over the years, Excon has evolved into a critical touchpoint for those closely following India’s infrastructure and construction equipment landscape, offering clear insights into how machines are becoming smarter, cleaner, and more efficient. The exhibition highlights advancements ranging from telematics and IoT-enabled monitoring to fuel-efficient powertrains, electrification, and reduced-emission technologies.
From the opening day of the exhibition, company stalls witnessed strong footfall from business visitors. The quality of visitor engagement indicated significant potential for converting leads into tangible business opportunities. Additionally, there was considerable interest in localisation, reflecting India’s growing importance as a key manufacturing hub catering not only to domestic demand but also to global requirements.
This year, sustainability emerged as a key focus area, with electric, hybrid, and low-emission technologies prominently showcased across the exhibition. In parallel, industry forums and CXO-level roundtables facilitated in-depth discussions on critical issues such as financing mechanisms, policy alignment, MSME participation, and the need for long-term infrastructure funding frameworks.

Strengthening Product Portfolio
Here are a few glimpses of select product launches that are expected to redefine the construction equipment segment and, more broadly, the infrastructure industry as a whole JCB India launched over 10 new products. The new line-up includes the 52-tonne excavator, enhanced backhoe loaders, the latest Excavator range (2-5 ton), and several technologically advanced, industry-first solutions. The company also expanded its hydrogen portfolio with the launch of a hydrogen-powered genset. Volvo CE India showcased the all-new EC215, a ‘Made-in-Bharat’ excavator created for India’s varied and demanding work environments. The EC215 marks Volvo CE’s next leap in delivering high-efficiency medium excavators purpose-built for India’s infrastructure ambitions. EC215 with the tagline “Zyada Ka Vaada” extends the Zyada philosophy across 20-22T class excavators offering outstanding performance, fuel-efficiency, value and uptime.
Mahindra’s Construction Equipment business (MCE) unveiled its new Mahindra COMPAX, Mini Compactor for Road Construction Industry. Additionally, the company showcased its advanced CEV-V Range of machines. that are set to redefine the standards in their respective categories, offering advanced features, more comfort, higher productivity and performance delivering higher earnings and prosperity to its customers. Escorts Kubota (EKL) has unveiled its latest BS V–compliant construction equipment range. In the earthmoving category, EKL introduced the Kubota U22-6 Mini Excavator as a commercial launch. EKL also showcased the Hydra 15 Mining, a prototype-stage variant designed specifically for mining and quarrying conditions and BLX75K Backhoe Loader as a prototype-stage variant for wider regional markets.
Propel Industries has expanded its electric mining and construction portfolio with the unveiling of four new tipper models, an all-new connectivity platform, and a comprehensive after-sales uptime solution. The launch included four new electric tippers – 90CED, 70CED, 560HEV-X, 470MEV Gen-2, Pulse.ev – An all-new Connectivity Platform, and Pro EV Care – A comprehensive EV Service Program. Putzmeister Concrete Machines unveiled more than 13 new products that represent the future of sustainable, intelligent, and high-performance construction machinery. At the centre of this year’s launch was Putzmeister’s Electric Series. The company also launched launched various other high-performance machines like Stationary Concrete Pump Ultima 1407 D, Ultima 1407 SHP, 1408 H with Boom Pump 47-5 and 36-4 with slave engine.
Caterpillar unveiled three new hydraulic excavators – Cat® 321, 322, and 324 -underscoring its focus on sustainable, digital-ready solutions. The company also highlighted its integrated ecosystem, including digital fleet management, advanced diagnostics, flexible financing, and equipment rebuilds, while announcing enhanced Customer Value Agreement (CVA) service commitments effective from 2026. Schwing Stetter India unveiled over 20 new products. The company introduced precast technology. The company also showcase showcased ~30 machines across 7,500+ sq. m space, highlighting India’s first 56m boom pump (S56SXF) for long-reach pours on infrastructure; first hybrid 36m boom pump (S36X) for electric operation; compact 31m boom pump on 2-axle chassis for urban use; CNG/EV truck mixers for decarbonization, among others.
Tata Motors unveiled a broad portfolio of advanced solutions under the theme ‘Productivity Unleashed’, aimed at supporting India’s expanding infrastructure and construction sector. Key launches included the Prima 3540.K AutoShift, the company’s most powerful tipper for deep mining applications, the all-electric Prima E.28K, and the Signa 2820.TK CNG, India’s first factory-fitted CNG tipper. The display was complemented by aggregates such as industrial engines, axles, and gensets, underscoring Tata Motors’ focus on innovation and sustainability. SKF India Industrial presented its latest generation of intelligent and clean technologies.
Kennametal India presented a comprehensive lineup of road rehabilitation, foundation drilling, surface mining tooling systems and engineered wear-protection solutions designed to enhance performance, productivity and equipment life across diverse applications. JK Tyre & Industries launched four new OTR tyres, including the SKY GRIP (355/55D625) for aerial work platforms and boom lifts, and three variants for industrial and mining applications—the 14.00-25 GTL PLUS for backhoe loaders, 23.5-25 GTL PLUS for wheel loaders, and 14.00-20 VEM AS-UG for underground mining. Action Construction Equipment (ACE) unveiled a new portfolio featuring intelligent tower cranes, passenger lifts, AI-assisted pick-and-carry cranes, aerial work platforms, high-performance telehandlers, and advanced material handling and construction equipment—underscoring its focus on new-age technology, performance, reliability, and safety across India’s infrastructure and industrial sectors.
Sustainability Takes Centrestage
Sustainability and decarbonisation emerged as defining themes at the exhibition, with OEMs showcasing a growing range of electric, hybrid, CNG, and low-emission construction equipment. From electric excavators and tippers to hydrogen-powered solutions and energy-efficient powertrains, the exhibition reflected the industry’s concerted shift towards reducing carbon footprints without compromising on performance or productivity. This transition is being driven by tighter emission norms, rising fuel costs, and increasing pressure on contractors to meet sustainability benchmarks across infrastructure projects. The strong presence of alternative-fuel machines, coupled with advancements in battery technology, energy management, and lifecycle efficiency, underscored the construction equipment sector’s readiness to align with India’s broader decarbonisation and climate commitments.
Wraps Up on a High Note
Excon 2025 reaffirmed its position as more than just an exhibition, emerging as a strategic platform that brings together manufacturers, policymakers, and global stakeholders while reflecting India’s evolving infrastructure and construction equipment priorities. With a strong focus on technology, sustainability, localisation, and collaboration, the event showcased a wide range of innovative products and solutions, underlining the sector’s maturity and alignment with the country’s economic and sustainability goals. Often described as a ‘festival of construction equipment’, the 13th edition set new benchmarks in scale, participation, and international engagement, highlighting India’s growing capabilities and the industry’s collective strength.
With the next edition scheduled for 2027, EXCON is set to drive wider adoption of cleaner, smarter, and more efficient solutions, reflecting India’s emergence as a global leader in construction equipment and sustainable infrastructure development.
