Balkrishna Industries (BKT) plant in Waluj, Maharashtra, has been recognized as one of the winners of the CII National Water Award 2025, one of India’s most prestigious honors for excellence in water stewardship and sustainable industrial practices. Presented by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the award acknowledges organizations that demonstrate outstanding leadership in water conservation and resource optimization.
This recognition, presented to the plant in New Delhi on 19th November 2025, underscores BKT’s commitment to sustainable water management and operational excellence within the tyre industry. Over the past two years, the Waluj plant has successfully reduced water consumption by 25%, achieving this remarkable feat through small, consistent process improvements, Kaizens, and disciplined daily follow-ups.
The Waluj plant showcased these achievements to the CII jury, emphasizing not only its environmental stewardship but also its operational innovation. BKT’s holistic approach demonstrates that sustainable practices can go hand-in-hand with productivity and quality improvements, setting new benchmarks in the tyre manufacturing sector.
In addition to water efficiency, the Waluj plant achieved multiple operational milestones in October 2025, including record-low scrap rates, optimized energy and material consumption, improved first-time quality (FTQ), and strengthened safety measures, thus confirming company’s commitment to create a high-standard workplace for both the environment and the community.
