Automated batching plants will enhance productivity

V G Sakthikumar, Managing Director, SCHWING Stetter Sales and Services Private Limited,talks about the newly launched batching plants in an interaction with EPC World.

Can you please take us through the details of the batching plant launched at Excon 2015?

Batching plant set up requires conveyor to bring in material like sand, stone. It also needs construction of foundations to provide a base. M30Z batching plant does not require conveyor or foundation base for its set up, leading to cost savings.

What kind of response did you receive at EXCON?

We have launched six products at Excon 2015. We got enormous response from the customers. It is evident from this that within two days we sold four products consisting of tower crane, recycling plant, motor grader, 3 tonne and 5 tonne wheel loaderand self-loading mixer. The clients came to know that we manufacture these products in this Excon and decided on the spot.

Can you please tell us about the current scenario of the construction equipment industry?

The road and mining sectors have started showing the signs of revival. NitinGadkari, Minister for Roads Transport and Highways, has committed of the construction of 100kmroad daily. All this is reflected in the sale of road – construction equipment. Building of concrete roads will definitely drive the growth of cement industry. It will ultimately leadto the further enhancement of the construction equipment industry.

Can you take us through the market of concrete pumps?

As the real estate markethas not been witnessing any growth trajectory, the demand from this sector is low. However, the demand from the government projects like bridges, government buildings, canal lining etc. is accelerating the growth. We hope that power sector will soon witness a gradual growth and push the demand for the concrete equipment as nuclear and other power projects require huge amount of concrete.

What are the other new features in the batching plants?

We have enhanced the batching plants to a new level through automation. It will help the clients about the quantity of raw material in silo, consumption of the material and the entire production details. With the help of automated batching plants, clients can plan and execute the complete operations in more efficient ways. Our updated softwareis well equipped to handle tight schedules with the optimum productivity.
