Dr. Arpita Suchismita

Dr. Arpita Suchismita is a highway and pavement engineering professional with over 15 years of experience across industry, research, and academia. She currently serves as Assistant General Manager – Highway Design at Interise Project Management Pvt. Ltd., where she is involved in technical due diligence of BOT and TOT highway projects, pavement performance evaluation, overlay assessment, and formulation of maintenance and rehabilitation strategies for national highway assets.

She holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from IIT Bombay, with specialization in pavement engineering. Her doctoral research focused on the performance evaluation of polymer-modified binders and bituminous mixes under long-term aging conditions, contributing to the development of durable and sustainable pavement infrastructure.

Her expertise includes pavement design, field performance evaluation using FWD, NSV and BBD, distress analysis, bituminous mix characterization, overlay design, and maintenance planning. She has also authored several journal and conference publications in the areas of asphalt binders, polymer-modified bitumen, recycled materials, and pavement performance.

With a strong blend of field experience, laboratory research, and academic insight, Dr. Suchismita brings a practical and research-driven perspective to the evolving needs of India’s roads and highways sector.
