Texmaco to Modernise Eastern Railway Signalling with MSDAC Technology
Texmaco Rail & Engineering has secured a ₹42.47 crore (inclusive of GST) contract from Eastern Railway to upgrade signalling systems in West Bengal. The project involves replacing conventional auto signalling with advanced Multi Section Digital Axle Counter (MSDAC) technology in the LLH–BDC section. The project is slated for completion within 24 months.
This project marks a significant step in enhancing operational safety and efficiency on one of Eastern Railway’s important sections. The deployment of MSDAC technology will enable highly accurate train detection, minimise system failures, and improve throughput by allowing better traffic management and reduced headway between trains. The upgrade is aligned with Indian Railways’ broader focus on modern, fail-safe, and technology-driven signalling systems to support increasing traffic demand while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Sudipta Mukherjee, Managing Director, Texmaco Rail & Engineering, said, “This order reflects the growing confidence in Texmaco’s ability to deliver safety‑critical railway systems. As India’s railways accelerate modernisation, signalling will be central to unlocking greater capacity and reliability. Our priority is to deploy robust, future‑ready technologies that strengthen safety while enabling seamless, high‑density operations across vital routes.”
The contract further strengthens Texmaco’s presence in the Signalling & Telecommunications (S&T) segment, adding to its diversified portfolio spanning freight rolling stock, rail EPC, and electrical systems. The company continues to build momentum across its core businesses, reinforcing its leadership in the private freight ecosystem.
With seven manufacturing facilities across West Bengal, Gujarat, and Chhattisgarh, and strategic partnerships with global leaders such as Wabtec and Touax, Texmaco is well-positioned to deliver complex, technology-intensive projects. The latest contract win reflects the company’s continued commitment to supporting Indian Railways’ transformation agenda through advanced engineering, digitalisation, and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
As India accelerates investments in railway modernisation, Texmaco is focused on innovation-led growth and contributing to safer, faster, and more efficient rail transportation across the country.
