Indian Peroxide Announces 400 TPD Chlor-Alkali Plant at Dahej
Indian Peroxide (IPL), a leading, quality-focused Indian chemical manufacturer, has announced the development of a 400 TPD Chlor-alkali plant at its Dahej manufacturing complex in Gujarat. To be implemented within the Dahej SEZ chemical hub, the new Chlor-alkali unit, based on advanced Japanese process technology, forms a critical part of IPL’s forward integration strategy and is slated for commissioning by October 2026. The facility has been engineered for scalability up to 800 TPD, underscoring IPL’s ambition to build a globally competitive, fully integrated chemical manufacturing platform, while ensuring long-term capacity expansion and supply security for domestic markets.
The announcement builds on IPL’s strong and steadily expanding hydrogen peroxide manufacturing base. The company operates a 300 TPD world-class hydrogen peroxide facility at Dahej, executed through a phased expansion from 150 TPD to 300 TPD, leveraging advanced Swedish process technology. IPL operates FSSAI-approved, BIS- and ISO-certified manufacturing facilities, reinforcing its commitment to quality, safety, and compliance with international standards. IPL is a speciality-grade hydrogen peroxide manufacturer, offering a differentiated portfolio that includes IPEROX PV, TETRA, SEMI, MIST, FG & COMBI, Silverox, and other high-performance formulations. The Dahej facility produces 35%, 50%, and 60% hydrogen peroxide for industrial and speciality-grade applications, serving leading FMCG majors, pharmaceuticals, electronics, textiles, water treatment, and other advanced industrial sectors. IPL exports its products to 15+ countries, reflecting its growing global footprint.
With the addition of the caustic soda/Chlor-alkali plant, IPL is strategically entering the Chlor-alkali value chain, achieving deeper backward and forward integration. Hydrogen generated as a by-product will feed into hydrogen peroxide production, enhancing resource efficiency and reinforcing IPL’s integrated process model. The project will boost domestic Chlor-alkali supply, reduce import dependence, and support downstream industries including paper, textiles, aluminium, soaps, water treatment, chemicals, and infrastructure sectors. As part of a larger integrated complex, the Dahej facility is set to become a strategic chemical hub aligned with Gujarat’s vision for value-added manufacturing.
Speaking on the strategic significance of the project, Amit Tyagi, Managing Director, Indian Peroxide Limited, said, “This is not merely a capacity addition; it is a strategic investment in the future architecture of India’s chemical manufacturing ecosystem. At Dahej, we are building an integrated caustic soda and hydrogen platform designed for scale, operational resilience and decarbonisation. The project strengthens IPL’s global competitiveness, enables deeper participation in the clean-energy transition, and positions us to deliver world-class chemical products in a carbon-constrained environment. We see this as a long-term strategic asset—engineered for the decades ahead.”
For project execution, Indian Peroxide has appointed Nuberg EPC, a global EPC and turnkey project management company, as Project Management Consultant (PMC) and EPC contractor, with end-to-end responsibility for engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning. With over three decades of global process engineering expertise, Nuberg EPC has delivered 65+ turnkey projects across 32+ countries, including 25+ caustic soda plants worldwide, and possesses extensive experience in calcium chloride, sulphuric acid, hydrogen peroxide, and other complex chemical process facilities. The company also owns patented hydrogen peroxide technologies, reinforcing its leadership in advanced process engineering.
Parallelly, Nuberg EPC has established itself as a key player in the green energy transition, with strong capabilities in green hydrogen, green ammonia, biofuels, and sustainable energy solutions. Through its dedicated green energy vertical, the company is executing next-generation hydrogen-based projects aligned with global decarbonisation goals, energy transition mandates, and clean fuel adoption.
Recognised globally as the World’s No. 2 EPC company for Chlor-alkali and the World’s No. 1 EPC company for Hydrogen Peroxide, Nuberg EPC is expected to ensure project delivery aligned with international engineering benchmarks, stringent quality standards, and optimised execution timelines—while bringing future-ready, sustainable engineering practices that reinforce IPL’s vision of a globally integrated, high-performance chemical manufacturing platform.
