New Delhi, Nov (EPC News): The Steel Authority of India is planning to construct a new 12 million metric ton-a-year steel plant in Jharkhand, sometime after 2012, said V.K. Mehta, executive director, SAIL.

"We are looking at putting up a new greenfield plant of 12 million tons a year in Jharkhand," he said.
No decision has been taken yet, he said, and the project was still in an early study phase, but the project could start after 2012, once the company's existing brownfield expansion plans have been completed.
