Rural development ministry releases Rs13.35 cr under PMGSY for Bihar

New Delhi, Dec (EPC News): The Ministry of Rural Development has released grant in aid worth Rs13.35 crpre National Projects Construction Corporation Limited (NPCC) for construction of rural roads in Bihar under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).

The sum is towards as the agency fees for construction of rural roads in Bihar. National Projects Construction Corporation Limited (NPCC) is one of the nodal agencies for the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in Bihar subsequent to a tripartite agreement between NPCC , Bihar State Rural Development Department and the Union Ministry Of Rural Development.

Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana is a 100 % centrally sponsored scheme to provide road connectivity in the rural areas of the country. PMGSY envisages connectivity to all habitations with a population of 500 persons and above in the rural areas and about 250 persons and above in respect of the hill states, tribal areas and desert areas through good and all weather roads.
