Rural Development Min grants Rs725 cr for road connectivity under PMGSY

New Delhi, Dec (EPC News): Rural Development ministry has granted Rs725 crore for rural road connectivity under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna, said the ministry officials.

In its first case the ministry has released around Rs250 crore to Orissa for construction of rural roads The sum is the from the special window created in NABARD(National Bank for Agriculture& Rural Development) under RIDF as grants in aid to the Orissa State Rural Road Development Agency(OSRRDA) towards payment for works taken up under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in the state.

The ministry has also released grant in aid worth Rs200 crores to Maharashtra. The sum is the from the special window created in NABARD(National Bank for Agriculture& Rural Development) under RIDF as grants in aid to the Maharashtra Rural Road Development Agency(MRRDA) towards payment for works taken up under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in the state.

For Madhya Pradesh the ministry has released grant in aid worth Rs275.04 crores to Madhya Pradesh. The sum is the first installment of Batch V under ADB assisted RRSIP to the Madhya Pradesh Rural Road Development Authority towards payment for works taken up under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in the state. MPRRDA is the nodal agency for implementation of PMGSY in the state.
