IIA Awards 2008 celebrates “Excellence in Architecture”

Kolkata June (EPC News): The West Bengal Chapter of the Indian Institute of Architecture successfully hosted the “IIA Excellence in Architecture Awards –2008” ceremony at the architectural heritage - “Town Hall”, Kolkata on 29th May 2009.

The Awards function was attended by over 300 architects from all over West Bengal along with important architects from the executive committee members of Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. The awards evening also marked the beginning of a three day convention that continued till 31st May, 2009. The winners of the IIA Awards announced during the ceremony are Residential: Ar. T.N. Kukke Subramanya, Bangalore; Public: Ar. Pranav Desai, Mumbai, Ar. Oscar G. Concessao, Chennai, Industrial: Commendation Certificate: Ar. Hemant Mahajan & Ar. Prashant Shah, Pune, Ar. Verendra Wakhloo, New Delhi; Interior: Ar. Kiran Venkatesh, Bangalore, Landscape Design: Ar. Prachi Wakaley, Pune. In the research category no entry was awarded. The winners in the five categories were awarded by Chief Guest, Honorable Mayor of Kolkata, Mr. Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya.
