Gurgaon recreation project draws 2 new bidders

Chandigarh, August (EPC News): The proposed recreation and leisure project at Gurgaon has attracted new bidders in the fresh bids invited by Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) in July.

Apart from DLF, Malaysia-based Country Heights Holdings and real estate developer Unitech have also evinced interest in developing the project. “The technical evaluation of the bids is going on, following which the financial bids will be invited,” a senior official of HSIIDC said. Apart from the realty majors various small developers have also bid for the project.

The corporation had earlier invited global competitive bids for allotment of 350 acres land on freehold basis on Gurgaon-Faridabad road, in January this year for setting up the project. The bids closed on April 30, and DLF emerged to be the sole bidder for the project.

“Since a major portion of the proposed site is forest land, long procedures of getting approvals for the project kept the developers at bay. So the state government decided to get the approval for the land falling under Punjab Land Preservation Act (PLPA), Aravalli notification/plantation, etc, from the authorities itself on behalf of the developers and some payment terms have also been relaxed. After incorporating all these changes fresh bids were invited in July and the bids closed on August 12. Now we have received bids from various developers apart from DLF,” said the official. The project will comprise of commercial, residential, sports and golf course activities.
