Videocon plans to invest Rs1,600 cr in TN

Chennai, Jan (EPC News): The Videocon Group, which is planning to invest Rs1,600 crore in an electronic products manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu, is also considering a solar power project, said the company release.

The State Government has allotted 70 acres land for the project in the Sipcot industrial estate at Manamadurai in Sivaganga district. The project is eligible for special incentives given by the State Government to attract investments in southern districts. The plant will generate 1,000 jobs.

The group is also exploring options of setting up a solar power project and has held discussions with officials.
