Mumbai, Apr (EPC News): The Ministry of Power will bid out three inter-state private transmission power projects worth Rs6000 crore by September- end this year, said B K Chaturvedi (Member) Planning Commission.

"At present all these three projects are in RFQ stages, and will be awarded in the month of September," said B K Chaturvedi.

Earlier, under 11th Five Year Plan, the Power Ministry had decided to go for 14 transmission projects, but later on it was revised to six. "The response for transmission projects was not up to the mark from private players," said a source from the Ministry.

The Ministry has already awarded three of six transmission projects to Sterlite Industries and Reliance Power respectively.
