Under the ongoing water front development work of Mumbai Port, Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Shipping, Road Transport & Highways, Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation has two floating restaurants - Neverland and Sea Yah. These two floating restaurants can accommodate 475 persons respectively. The government has awarded three floating restaurants – two at the sea off Gateway of India and one at the sea off Girgaum Chowpatty. These floating restaurants will be available for family functions, corporate or specialized events, public meets, etc.

Sea-worthiness, life-saving appliances and fire fighting equipment have been surveyed and tested. The restaurants carry 500 life-jackets and 24 life-rafts and buoyant apparatus, and are equipped with 2 VHF, 1 Radar, eco-sounder, GPS and AIS for monitoring ship movements.
