Tata Steelhas managed to put in its best ever total agglomerate production of 13.81 million tonne in FY'16, up 8%, beating its previous best output of 12.78 million tonne in FY'15.
The company's steel marketing & sales also achieved its highest ever volumes at 9.54 million tonne in FY'16, which is 9% higher than its previous best of 8.75 million tonne in FY'15. Tata Steel's production gain was boosted by its highest ever hot metal production of 10.65 million tonne against its previous highest of 10.16 million tonne of hot metal produced in FY'15. One of the country's largest private sector steel makers, Tata Steel reported its highest crude steel production of 9.96 million tonne in FY'16 compared to its previous best of 9.33 million tonne in FY'15.
Tata Steel also posted its best ever production for saleable steel production of 9.70 million tonne in the just concluded fiscal, almost 7% higher than its previous best 9.07 million tonne in FY'15, a statement issued by the company said adding that its various mills including Hot Strip, Cold Rolling, Merchant & New Bar Mills have also achieved best ever production.
A statement issued by the company on Friday said it also posted a nearly 51% jump in sales of value-added products at 0.53 million tonne in FY'16, compared to 0.35 million tonnes in FY'15.
In particular, Tata Astrum sales grew to 1.02 million tonne during the just concluded fiscal, an increase of 10% over 0.91 million tonne in FY'15, while Tata Steelium Neo saw sales jump to 0.15 million tonne in FY'16 compared to its previous best of 0.12 million tonne in FY'15. In the LPG segment, Tata Steel sold 0.30 million tonne in FY'16 against 0.18 million tonne in FY'15. It also said its teady build sales went up to 0.12 million tonne in FY'16 compared tote previous best of 0.11 million tonne in FY'14.
