Ratnamani Metals & Tubes awarded contract for 24 inch diameter line pipes from GAIL (India)

The contract for pipes for the Barauni-Guwahati segment of the Jagdishpur-Haldia & Bokaro-Dhamra Natural Gas Pipeline (JHBDPL) project has been awarded to Ratnamani Metals & Tubes by GAIL (India). As per the contact, Ratnamani Metals & Tubes will supply to GAIL (India) 108 km 24 inch diameter line pipes at a total cost of Rs 125 crore.

The JHBDPL project is being executed by GAIL (India).  The project also known as ‘Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga’ will connect eastern and north-eastern India to the existing natural gas grid. The states that will be covered are eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha and Assam. The project is scheduled to be completed by December 2018.

Once completed, the project will not only supply environmentally clean natural gas to power, steel, cement plants, refineries and fertilizer units and other industries but will also provide clean energy to households and transportation through the city gas distribution networks.
