Dulanga Coal Mine, the maiden Coal Mine of NTPC in the State of Odisha was dedicated to the Nation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Situated in district Sundergarh, Odisha, the Coal Mine has been allotted by Government of India to meet the fuel requirement of NTPC’s 2x800 MW Darlipali Super Thermal Power Plant.
Dulanga Mine has block area of 6.54 Sq. Km, Geological Reserves of 196 MMT and Mineable Reserves of 152 MMT and ultimate production capacity of 7 MMTPA.
The event was held in the presence of Prof. Ganeshi Lal, Governor, Odisha; Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister, Odisha; Suresh Prabhu, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation; Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship; Jual Oram, Union Minister of Tribal Affairs; along with other dignitaries from Odisha. Gurdeep Singh- CMD, NTPC, Shri PK Mahapatra- Director (Technical), NTPC, MP. Sinha- RED, ER-II were also present on the occasion.
In Odisha, NTPC has currently 3000 MW Talcher Super Thermal and 460 MW Talcher Thermal operating power stations in District Angul of Odisha. Further, 1600 MW Darlipali STPP is under construction and 1320 MW (2x660MW) Talcher Thermal Power Project Stage-III is also in pipeline.
