Roads and Highways minister Nitin Gadkari has launched two portals for bidding and land acquisition respectively. For bidding the minister has launched Bidder Information Management System (BIMS), which will help in streamlining the process of pre-qualification of bidders for EPC Mode of contracts. The portal will work as a data base of information about bidders, covering basic details, civil works experience, cash accruals and network, annual turnover, etc. For land acquisition the minister has launched Bhoomi Rashi and PFMS linkage.
Bhoomi Rashi is developed by MoRTH and NIC. The portal contains the entire revenue data of 6.4 lakh villages. This portal is developed for speeding up the process of publication of notifications for land acquisition. So far more than 900 notifications have been issued using the portal. The Bhoomi Rashi portal is integrated with Public Financial Management System (PFMS). By integrating PFMS with Bhoomi Rashi portal the compensation related to land acquisition payment will now be directly through the Bhoomi Rashi system.
