The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has invited e-tenders to design and construct a flyover at Mumbra bypass junction on NH-4 and widening of existing road under the extended Mumbai Urban Infrastructure Project (MUIP). This project will help segregate highway traffic from the local traffic.
The 540-meter long and 24-meter wide 3+3-lane flyover will be constructed from Atlanta Toll Naka to Bharat Gear Company in Mumbra. The existing 30-meter wide road running along the proposed flyover (Rs.57 crore) alignment is also being widened to 60 meters under the project estimated approximately at Rs.32.56.
“The traffic carting on the existing Mumbra bypass is very heavy, especially to and fro JNPT-Hyderabad-Ahmedabad. Mumbra, connected to industrial areas, is crowded and causes traffic jams and road rages. The new flyover and widening of existing road at Mumbra Bypass Junction will help rid the traffic congestion in peak hours and reduce travel time”, said Mr. Dilip Kawathkar, Joint Project Director (PR).
