JSW Cement has commenced manufacturing of Concreel HD cement at its Dolvi unit in Maharashtra. This is part of the company’s plans to expand its retail presence in West India following the success of this product in Southern markets. JSW Cement’s Dolvi facility will be responsible for servicing the Western India markets.
The company is beginning its retail foray in West India region with the launch of Concreel HD in Maharashtra. It will commence selling the product through more than 1000 retail outlets across Greater Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane and Raigad district. By the end of this fiscal, JSW Cement will expand its retail footprint to sell Concreel HD across Maharashtra State.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Parth Jindal, MD- JSW Cement Ltd. said, “It’s a great day for us at JSW Cement. Concreel HD has had roaring success in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. I am glad to see Concreel HD make its way into the Western states of India starting with Maharashtra. JSW Cement will be increasing capacity in our Dolvi plant from 1 MTPA to 2.2 MTPA by 2018 and further expanding it to 4.5 MTPA by 2019 to cater to the demand in the region. The company is on track to meet its vision of 20mtpa by 2020.”
Speaking on the occasion Mr.Nilesh Narwekar, CEO JSW Cement Ltd said, “Concreel HD is our premium product which is environmental friendly with improved chemical resistance, created using world class manufacturing processes and technology. Concreel HD has been specially designed for concrete based construction requirements and provides more durability as well as increased safety to the structure. Just like South India even Maharashtra and the other markets in which we launch in the future will take to this superior product and make it the mainstay of their building plans”
Given the encouraging monsoon season this year coupled with Government impetus, the company believes that Indian cement market will see improvement in demand environment going forward. This demand improvement will be driven by infrastructure and housing segments. JSW Cement believes that Concreel HD is well positioned to capitalize on these opportunities.
JSW Cement’s 2.2 MTPA capacity Dolvi plant will be used to fulfil the demand for Concreel HD in the western belt. In the initial phase, Concreel HD will be available in the Mumbai, Thane,Navi Mumbai and Raigad region and then covering the rest of Maharashtra including key cities of Pune, Nasik, Ratnagiri, Satara in the initial months of 2018.
