The Biennial Event Catering to the Indian Mining Sector will be back in Kolkata in Nov 2016
The four day international exhibition will be spread across 100,000 square meters of exhibition display area and showcase 400+ exhibitors from India and abroad attracting over 10,000+ business visitors. The different country pavilions which are a part of this edition include Australia, Canada, China, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Poland, Russia and UK. All the major Indian companies, government, PSU’s, nodal agencies will make their presence felt. IMME will also witness a two day Global Mining Summit.
The Global Mining Summit (GMS) is a signature initiative executed in tandem with the IMME. This flagship event organized by the CII National Mining Committee serves as a forum for congregation of the national and international stalwarts of the industry. The summit will facilitate discussions on the emerging issues and challenges being faced by the sector. Government policy makers, mining professionals, technology providers, financing institutions, academia, geologists, environmentalists and consultants will sit together and point out the tangible solutions to address the issues that matter to the mining industry. The Mining Summit will witness the presence of Mr. Vivek Tupule, Chief Economist, Rio Tinto, Mr. Tom Albanese, Global CEO, Vedanta Resources and Mr.Tuhin Mukherjee, MD, Essel Mining along with an impressive line-up of leaders from the mining sectors who have already confirmed their participation for the programme.
GMS has gained stature owing to its focus on satiating the specific needs of the buyers and sellers. Large mining companies seek key technological alliances to improve their productivity and processes in the next 2-3 years time. The event will also witness the launch of an exclusive report on the mining sector at the hands of Mr. Piyush Goyal, Minister of State for Power, Coal, New & Renewable Energy and Mines. The report will focus on a range of issues including economic benefits of mining in maintaining the country's strategic balance sheet, improving the exploration pipeline, implementation of MMDR & suggestions for making it more industry friendly.
