GMR Infrastructure Limited (GIL) has won two more packages worth Rs 2,280-crore on the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor railway project. Earlier in April 2016, GMR led consortium emerged as the successful bidder amongst a total of six bidders for the project through an international competitive bidding process. The project is expected to be completed in 44 months and 36 months and will be executed in two stages the first stage which constitutes a 175km single line will enable connectivity between Sahnewal and Pilkhani via Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab. The second stage constitutes a 46-km double line corridor in Uttar Pradesh which will enable connectivity between Dadri and Khurja.
GMR Group is not required to provide significant investment for the project since it is implemented on EPC basis, it said. Earlier in April 2016, GMR led consortium emerged as the successful bidder amongst a total of six bidders for the project through an international competitive bidding process. The entire project will be funded by the World Bank. The scope of work in the recently bagged project involves design and construction of civil, structures and track works for single/double line on Design-Build Lump Sum Basis
