GE Renewable Energy in a press release has announced that it has been selected by ReNew Power to provide 120 GE 2.5-132 turbines for its Gadhsisa Wind Farm project in Gujarat. ReNew Power successfully bid for this project in the third round of auctions conducted by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).
With an installed total capacity of 300 MW, the Gadhsisa Wind Farm project is the largest full turnkey engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) project bagged by GE Renewable Energy in India.
The press release further states that this project will provide clean and reliable electricity to equivalent of 1,100,000 homes in India.
The 2.5-132 wind turbines to be provided by GE Renewable Energy are designed at GE's Technology Centre, Bangalore. Compare to GE's 2.3-116 turbine this turbine has improved rotor diameter, wind capture and 30% more Annual Energy Production (AEP).
